ADDRESSES FOR DEPLOYED WOLFHOUNDS

**New information has just come down that we should not put the name of the FOB or COB on mail for downrange.  It's a Federal Regulation which is sporadically enforced but to make sure that packages and letters arrive, please do not use it from now on.  The address for your Soldier downrange (please do not put the rank) is as follows:

 Your Wolfhound's Name
(HHC, A, B, C, D or F Co), 2-27th Inf Bn, 3IBCT, 25ID

Mailing and Shipping Info...

All packages and mail must be addressed to individual service members, as required by U.S. Department of Defense regulations. All military units are assigned an APO or FPO ZIP Code and, in many cases, that ZIP Code travels with the unit. The Postal Service places APO/FPO mail on special charter flights, commercial airlines and military aircraft to reach armed services members overseas as quickly as possible.

NEW!     NEW!     NEW!

USPS offers a larger flat-rate box that can be shipped for just $12.95 to any U.S. address.
Save $2 when you ship to APO addresses -- just $10.95.

The US Postal Service now offers a new flat-rate box that is 50 percent larger and delivered for $10.95 to an APO/FPO address — $2 less than for domestic destinations. You must use one of the larger boxes to get the discount.

The new Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box (12" x 12" x 5 ½" or 800 cubic inches) will be available in Post Offices nationwide beginning March 3, but customers can begin ordering them Feb. 20 at usps.com/supplies or by calling 1-800-610-8734. Some of the new boxes are co-branded with the logo of America Supports You, which is a Department of Defense program that connects citizens offering support to the military and their families. WASHINGTON, DC — Planning to send a care package to a U.S. military service member serving abroad? Send it after March 3 to take advantage of a new flat-rate box from the U.S. Postal Service that is 50 percent larger and delivered for $10.95 to an APO/FPO address — $2 less than for domestic destinations.

The USPS has also created a special mailing and shipping kit designed specifically for military families sending packages overseas. Each of these CARE KITs contains two Priority Mail boxes, six Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, eight Priority Mail labels, one roll of Priority Mail tape and eight customs forms with envelopes. Flat Rate Boxes are a special value. Customers pay only $8.95, regardless of the weight or destination of the package. Call 1-800-610-8734 and ask for the CARE KIT. Please note the $2 military discount is not available when you use the two existing flat-rate boxes (11 7/8" x 3 3/8" x 13 5/8" and 11" x 8 ½" x 5 ½"), which currently retail for $8.95 for U.S. addresses.  Click on the picture to read the USPS news announcement or ask your local postmaster.
